Xiaomi has excellent news for the Gaming freaks. If you are planning to purchase a Laptop with high-end graphics useful for both gaming and video processing, then this article will be of much help for you. We are familiar with Xiaomi’s MI Notebook Air and Mi Notebook Pro, but recently Chinese brand just announced its new Gaming Mi Laptop.
The main highlights of the Gaming Mi are its Full HD 1080p 15.6-inch screen, powered by a GTX 1060 graphics card of up to 6 GB, an i7 Kaby Lake processor, and a DDR4 primary memory of 16GB. Isn’t a Beast? It is available for users in 2 variants as per their taste.
How’s the Hardware?
Its body has an impressive look since it is not having any logo on the lid. The full collection is black and is made up of aluminum which weighs around 2.5 kg. What makes this Laptop fit entirely to enhance the gaming experience is that the company provided an RGB illumination at the bottom, as well as 4 zone RGB, LED backlit keyboard. It gives a stunning look!
The hardware is designed with four air in-out ports located at the back and sides. There are two fans at the bottom for air intake and exhaust from the side vents. Xiaomi’s heat pipe design of 3+2(large diameter) provides complete cooling to the hardware.

What’s in the Pack?
Now looking further into the configuration of its both variants, we will get;
Base variant: An Intel Core i5-7300HQ quad-core processor of the 7th generation, with frequency ranging from 2.5 GHz to 3.5 GHz. A 4 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti GPU for the high-quality gaming experience. On this version, you’ll get a DDR4-2400 RAM of 8 GB and can be upgradable up to 16GB. It is expected to be available at a price of about 6000 CNY.
Top variant: An Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor with hyperthreading functionality, having the frequency ranging from 2.8 GHz to 3.8 GHz. GTX 1060, a faster GPU of 6 GB GDDR5. In this variant, you’ll get double RAM of 16 GB DDR4-2400 inbuilt. You can buy this variant at a price of around 9000 CNY.
Storage & Connectivity:
There is a good option for storage as well on the Mi’s new Laptop where it can house a 2.5-inch drive and 2 M.2 PCIe drives. A user can customize the storage using any combination of 1TB HDD and a 128GB or 256 GB SSD. However, it is not yet clear whether the M.2 ports are PCIe or SATA.
Regarding external connectivity, there is a USB 3.0 Type-C port in combination with an HDMI port, 4 USB 3.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, Microphone and Headphone jacks. This new Mi Laptop can support Bluetooth 4.1 and includes a high-speed 802.11ac Dual-band Wi-Fi of up to 867 Mbps speed.
You might need to wait to get your hands on this new giant. Since the Mi Gaming Laptop will be released only in China for now on the upcoming 13th of April with a Chinese version of Windows.
