Samsung will present on August 9 in New York the new flagship smartphone of the brand that must compete with Apple for taking the top of the high range until the launch in spring of 2019 of the success of the Galaxy S9. But the leaks have returned to play a trick on the manufacturer and has been able to see the design of the new mobile by a careless video in the own page of the device.
The page and the video that was posted on YouTube have already been deleted from the official Samsung page. In the promotional image, you can read “say hello to the superpower” and “be one of the first to experience it.” However, the well-known blogger Evan Blass, who usually preempts the premieres of the flagships of the leading brands, has hastened to recover it.
The image offers us a Galaxy Note 9 very similar in design and functionalities to its current predecessor -the Galaxy Note 8-, with dual rear camera and fingerprint reader on the bottom of the phone, Super AMOLED 6.4-inch screen and a battery of 4,000 mAh, which offers more autonomy of the market.
From the S-Pen, nothing is known but the new design filtered in the video, although it is speculated that it will bring new features, a built-in microphone, and even its own connectivity. The Note 9 will work thanks to the Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 processor developed by Samsung, according to the markets, along with configurations of 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM, and storage of up to 512 GB expandable up to 1 TB with a microSD card.
The surprise is also that Samsung, swimming against the current, keeps the port 3.5 mm jack to connect headphones, distancing itself from the fashion of eliminating that port to make us communicate with the wireless headphones or the USB C port that Apple inaugurated with its iPhone X and to which Xiaomi, Huawei, and others have joined.
Between leaks and teasers, some manufacturers sometimes publish content by mistake. By preparing videos and other sites in advance, it is quick to press a button inadvertently and make public information that should remain confidential until a deadline. This is possibly what happened to Samsung and its “official trailer” put online a few hours before being removed.
The video in question shows the ” New Super Strong Note” with its brand new S Pen, its long battery life and 512 GB of memory expandable by 512 GB SD cards (for a total of 1 TB). Moreover, we can get a good idea of the design of the device, which does not change the Galaxy Note 8, but it’s not really a surprise.
Also, the official website of Samsung New Zealand has also posted for a limited time a smartphone presentation page with a button to pre-order. The page has since been removed.
No doubt, these two marketing elements were planned for August 9, when the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be formalized. If not very different from the Galaxy Note 8 aesthetically speaking, the Galaxy Note 9 should also have new features, as well as an exclusive Fortnite game.
