After getting lots of rumors, it’s now clear that Samsung will launch its new smartphone that is rugged Galaxy S7 Active sooner or later. We have some photos of the handset which is headed to AT&T, which shows it’s model number SM-G891A with very similar specs to the regular S7 but a military-grade protection (MIL-STD-810G) on top of its IP68 water and dust resistance. The leaked photos show that the S7 got redefined by replacing metal frame with poly-carbonate and rubber, military-style.
The handset is built to be a lot more rugged that the standard Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. The handset is said to be following the same footsteps of its Active predecessors and get released on AT&T in the US.
It is predicted that the storage options will be same as the standard handset and will feature a microSD card slot. About the display, we are not sure whether it will feature the exact same resolution as the standard device, if it does, then it will have a 5.1 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels.
Camera options are also expecting to be same that means a 5 megapixel camera on the front and a 12 megapixel camera on the back and the device is likely to come with Android Marshmallow.
Right now we don’t have any details about the release date and price so, stay with us for more updates.
